Sire Kessaar
Dam Lady Willpower
Description
Kessaar Power is a 2 year old who was purchased from the Goffs UK Doncaster Breeze up sale. He is the son of Kessaar who enjoyed a highly successful 2 year old campaign impressively winning the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes and the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes. Kessaar is a very promising first season sire who has already made a good start to his stallion career, and is tipped by many to be leading first season sire.
Kessaar Power is out of Lady Willpower who is the sister to some highly talented horses including Radio Gaga, and Irish 1000 Guineas runner up Ardbrae Lady. His attractive pedigree, along with his good confirmation and walk made him a very appealing purchase. Read below for more information
He breezed well despite showing greenness allowing plenty of room for improvement. It was a progressive breeze hitting the line very strong, with his stride length in the top 10% of the sale, and his gallop out in the top 5%.
Kessaar’s progeny have been well received at the sales and he has already had an impressive debut winner, Tajalla at Newmarket, who looks like he could take a high position in the juvenile ranks.
He is in training with Group 1 winning trainer Stan Moore in Lambourn who has a great record at training 2 year olds highlighted by winning the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy for two consecutive years with Dubai Dynamo and Total Gallery.
He is bred to be a sprinter and the type to make the perfect 2 year old. He debuted at Chepstow on the 10th May finishing a narrowly beaten 5th in a Competitive novice event. He ran green before staying on well up the hill finishing strongly and showing lots of promise. He then ran in the Woodcote on Oaks day before finishing 2nd in a competitive Chester Novice event on his third run. He was a good 6th of 18 in a high class Glorious Goodwood Maiden, running with a lot of credit, and is a winner waiting to happen.
